S Carlick and Sons is a successful manufacturer and supplier of high quality table tops, tables and other bespoke items to the contract furniture market. Many of its products are to be found in branded retail outlets such as Burger King and Starbucks.

When the second generation owners, sons of the founder, decided that the time was right to sell the business, they asked PM+M to advise them.

The deal was complicated by the number of parties and advisers involved, including a management buy in team, a high net worth private investor, the leveraged finance arm of a high street bank and an invoice discounter. There was also a significant property transaction to complete. Negotiations became very protracted requiring tenacity, but we were able to complete a good deal for the vendors.
